FAQsCan you drive a mobility scooter or LEMS without a driving Licence?
You don’t need a license to drive a mobility scooter.Does a mobility scooter or LEMS need to be registered?
Queensland is the only state where you need to register your mobility scooter. Every other state in Australia does not require you to register your mobility scooter. How often should you charge your LEMS?
While in use, you’ll be charging your mobility scooter regularly. Charge Lithium batteries only once. However, when you don’t use it, for lead acid batteries, leave your charger connected and switched on, but for a lithium battery it is best to store with the battery half full and the charger disconnected, and in a cool environment, but not freezing. The shallower the discharge the longer batteries will last. Try not to go below 20% charge, or 55V. When in storage, make sure the Power switch / over-load switch is OFF, so there is no chance of accidentally drawing current from a stored battery.
